High-Potential Program for Experts with Potential Assessment

Instruments: Individual Potential Assessment (Development Center) · Out-of-the-Box Challenges

Context

The IT and technology services unit of AXA Tech wanted to develop its highest-performing subject-matter experts in a targeted way – not toward a leadership track, but as a strengthening of the expert role itself: appreciation, sharpened development goals, cross-functional impact and a serious, transparent assessment of potential.

Task

The aim was a program that combines targeted development with a sound, fair assessment of potential – tailored to the particularities of the expert career track in Belgium and Germany.

Approach

The hallmark was the interlinking of development and diagnostics: training, self-reflection and experience-oriented challenges on the one hand, a structured diagnostic procedure on the other – consistently strengths-oriented and appreciative, supported by consultants with a psychological background.

Formats

A two-day kick-off with strengths reflection and individual development goals, personal reflection logs, experience-oriented “Out-of-the-Box” challenges and training modules (including communication as an expert, mindfulness, self-confidence). The diagnostic core consisted of a personality analysis and an “Individual Potential Check” – a Development Center format with several exercises and trained observers.

Role

PUETTGEN Consulting took on external program management and acted as trainers, facilitators and diagnostics experts – including the design and delivery of the Development Center format.

Transfer

Individual development goals, documented reflection throughout the program and a final development feedback session with clear next steps translated the insights into the expert role.

Distinctive Feature

The rare combination of expert development and professional potential assessment – with psychological expertise and an appreciative approach to the expert career track.
